Re: Card/paper model retailers in North America ?
I have a lot of 1:250 scale paper sets that came to me recently from my late brother's family. He seems to have done nothing to them except take a look ans put them back on a shelf. Most are HMV and Wilhelmshaven and there even are some photoetch and turned brass weapons for some. I'm in New Mexico and I really don't know what to do with them, so please contact me if you have any interest.
Nothing against those who reside in Poland, China or Ukraine, just using examples by naming countries....but, living in Delaware, USA, I'd rather order paper ship model kits from somewhere in North America. Beside, I think most of us would rather deal with retailers that we know are at least somewhat near ourselves. Or even possibly have no barriers concerning language if a problem should arise...
Is anyone aware of distributors of JSC, DIY, Answer , Wilhelmshavener Modellbaubogen, ect. in North America ?
To expect a model to arrive not bent up or otherwise compromised can be a lot to expect when it has gone through a lot of processing since leaving the other side of the globe, ya know ?
Otherwise, my choice is:
eBay with a choice that can be limiting, or
Deal with someone in Eastern Europe who can package correctly for shipping and still receive a partially damaged kit because it had travelled so far to begin with & attendant problems from that.
