Under the category of "any help", considering the scale does it absolutely have to be brass? You could get by with simply heating the tree from a kit, trimmed into a rod, over a candle, and carefully teasing the melted plastic into a pipe. Cut and trim the pipe, then drill out the cup, put a dot of black paint in the hole and paint the part with your chosen color. It may take some practice to get the hang of it, but there is a lot of spare plastic in a kit. After a while you can get rather good at it, and it doesn't cost anything extra. Once the model is complete, it will be very difficult to tell what the pipe is made of. Contest judges would have to be walking around with their handy electron microscopes to find the difference. Just a suggestion from an old goat. Might be some help, saving time and expense, as well as keeping ones vocabulary civil.
