The green colour comes from the CYANIDE used to kill any marine life that tried to colonise the hull!
From waterline down :
- a white narrow boot topping line
- a lead minium (red) band about one meter wide below the boot topping: about 3mm wide in 1:350.
- the rest of underwater body : Schweinfurth Green

Before I start work on my next ship modeling project, the French armored cruiser Dupuy de Lôme (Combrig 1/350, 1895), I'd like to ask those old salts out there what with color was the lower (submerged) hull painted? Either red or dark green, I would suspect, but does anyone know which one?
