Thanks for the tip Terry. I'll certaily give it a try. Transmission is shifting and has no slipping as far as I can tell. The 84 power train is sleeping under a FaberFab MGTD. Last year I finally had the guts to remove all the emission control stuff and replaced the carb. The engine runs great and it rides well once I lowered the tire pressure to 22 psi to match the tire load rating to the weight of the vehicle. That alone really made the ride smooth and has not shown any tire wear.
Does anyone have a really good picture of which connector on the coil pack I need to connect a tachometer to? Unfortunately, the MG installation has a large flat aluminum plate installed to support the steering shaft support bearings. Until I remove the left front fender and hood supports, I cannot get a good look under the intake manifold. The tach is the only instrument that was never hooked up in 1985.
