Re: Floor pan replacement
Since there are no floor pan replacements, what I did was revert back to "old school" and make them out of sheet metal. 1st, pull back, or remove the carpet & pad from the spot you want to repair. Next, cut out the rusted area up to where there is good solid metal. Get some cardboard or fiber board (the packaging for soda or beer cans) and use that to make a template of the area you want to repair. Go to the hardware store and purchase some sheet metal (if you don't have any around), 18 ga is best but 20 ga will work. You'll need a drill, 1/8" drill bit, 1/8" steel pop rivets, a pop riveter, sheet metal shears, and a sharpie. Once you've made your template set it on the metal and trace around it, then cut the metal to match the template. Make sure it covers the area and overlaps about 1". Drill 1/8" holes in the overlap area and secure it with the 1/8" pop rivets, about 1 to 1 1/2" apart. I usually seal the seams with gutter seal (also from the hardware store). Once installed, replace the carpet. I have done this on my chevette with good results. Check it out at https://1977chevette.shutterfly.com/
