I would just like to wish everybody a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year and fond meeories of the old Island.

Thank you Ian, No free drink at the China Fleet Club, No 'Smiley' behind the bar, No 'tot' and not even a 10 dollar run ashore. They just do'nt make Christmas the way they uses to. Compliments of the season. George

Just booked my annual pilgrimage to the Far east
(Singapore,Bali Hongkong and of course thailand) Will be in hong kong for the new years celebrations this time! (mid February) (year of the RAT)so am really looking forward to it.Should be Noisy!! If I remember correctly in our days Fireworks were officially banned. I have of corse seen the light display across the harbour before but hear it is extra special as is the parade Kowloon side, up Nathan Road. I'll have a pint for you in the "New Yuppie Hendrys"

Have a Happy and Merry Christmas. My memories of Christmas on JSTS is December 1968 in the JR's Mess when HP Sauce was not put on the table at the insistance of one of the wise men. Does that ring any bells ?

Tony having spent the Xmas of 68 in the JR's mess with you. You know that you and Topsy Turner in your usual state of inebriation. Had the party trick of throwing everything into the overhead fans wether in the bar or messroom. So to avoid decapitation you were banned from any table with ash trays, glass or anything sharp. I would submit that is why HP sauce bottles were banned atXmas dinner. Pure survival and to decrease the likelihood of cerebral injury.....George

and a Happy Christmas to you, George. You do have a rather good memory, but on this occasion I am sure that Topsy and I were prefect gentlemen during the festive celebrations. Possibly you have mixed us up with 2 others. I can now understand in my maturity why the tot was stopped in the 70s.
Still they were good days. I have some very good memories of those days in HK.
