Picture Library requires password?

Very disappointing! Why would a password be necessary to see the picture library? I have some pictures of stonecutters which I would love to upload.

Please let me know your email address and your connection with Stonecutters Island and I will gladly send you the password.

By the way, the site does not have a visitor picture upload ability as yet. If you have pictures that you would like included on the site, you can send them to me (after we have made direct contact) and I will upload them for you during the next update.

Hi, yes I lived on the island from 1974-1976, my father Dave Moore(fleet chief RN) was stationed there. We lived in Quarry house, I think thats what it was called, with a chow dog that we inherited with the house. I would love to check out the photos on this site if possible. Our family have such great memories of our time there, so much so that we went back in 1990 with my brother,who got married out there and had the wedding blessed in the little tower church on the island. Look forward to hearing from you.

I wonder if was the same dog?? GIRLIE I looked afer from when she arrived on the island as a pup 1969. My last vision of her was when I was leaving the island for the last time and she was on the end of the jetty wondering why I was not taking her on a "Run Ashore"!! I heard a few years later that she had pups by the Alsation at the Ammo Depot. Can you confirm. Hopefully Graham will give you the password for the photos soon

Have sent you an email with the password info. Ian, I had forgotten about Girlie. Not sure if I remember about the puppies with the Alsation! Will have to check if I have any photos!

Great to see more people are now finding the website. I have registered it with a few more search sites and it now seems to be coming up more often in searches for Hong Kong and Navy related items.

My family and I were out there same time!
Daughter Victoria (3/4) and son Mark (6/7) (Wife Norma). We lived up "Wuthering Heights", above the Wireless Station. I remember your dad with very fond memories (he was my boss), especially the weekly "social" football matches and his long, quiet chats about my future naval career!
I'll be posting a few photo's to the site (as soon as I've scanned the slides!)

Your e-mail is not complete. Please send some background info on your connection with the Island, i.e. when you were there, what you did etc. to webmaster@stonecuttersisland.com and we will get you a password. Many thanks.

Hi Alan, nice to hear from you, my mum has some very fond memories of both you and your wife. Stonecutters was a very special place for both adults and children. Looking forward to seeing the photos you have for the site. I'm glad you had fond memories of my dad, unfortunately he died 4 years ago, sadly missed by all. He served in the RN for 39 years, finishing his career in the careers office in Belfast, one of his last recruits was me, made him very proud. Mum is now looking out some photos for me to put on the web, watch this space.....

I served as an REM on JSTS from Oct 67 to Dec 68 and had a wonderful time there.I would appreciate it if you could send me the password for the Picture library. i have looked at the Osland on Google Earth and it brings back some great memories.

i served with the 3rd reg royal horse artillery in1973 i was stationed at sek kong camp new territories and lived in lai chi kok kowloon faceing stone cutters island i was imprisoned in the army at stoecutters for 56 days for bieng absent without leave i also spent some time fishing on the beach

Found my way here as I'm searching for old friends from my HK days. Stonecutters was our FOB back in 1980 when I was working on the SRN6 hovercraft with NP1009. Remember so well the Sikh guards and "T" boats from Tamar (with a hangover). Would love a password to see the picture library. I have some to add but will need to scan them in.

I have sent you a link to the Stonecutters Island Picture Library.

You'll need a Flickr Account to see them.

We moved all the Images to a Private FB group over three years ago, so if you have a FB account you can see them there at:

I have also sent you an Invite to that Group as well.
