My grandfather was posted to Stonecutters in 1926to run the radio station. His name was Bill Miles. He took his wife and two children, one of whom was my mother. Amongst other memories, she says Ah Fut, their cook, was executed by the Japanese when the occupied the island for sabotaging the rolls of copper wire.
