Patricia. Just to say that as far as I've found out,after 1997 access to Stonecutters island is not feasable. At least at very short notice. Ie January.
You have to write to various authorities, say why and reason, get permission then obtain passes.
Although I have not been back myself, others have said there is not much that you can see.
Looking at Google earth, a ride over the Stonecutters suspension bridge is the best you'll manage. Or a camera with a good lens from the Peak I suppose. Your findings will be interesting to those of us who use this forum. Regards.
