Psalm 41 (NKJV)
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
1 Blessed is he who considers the poor;
The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
2 The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive,
And he will be blessed on the earth;
You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.
3 The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness;
You will sustain him on his sickbed.
4 I said, “LORD, be merciful to me;
Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.”
5 My enemies speak evil of me:
“When will he die, and his name perish?”
6 And if he comes to see me, he speaks lies;
His heart gathers iniquity to itself;
When he goes out, he tells it.
7 All who hate me whisper together against me;
Against me they devise my hurt.
8 “An evil disease,” they say, “clings to him.
And now that he lies down, he will rise up no more.”
9 Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted,
Who ate my bread,
Has lifted up his heel against me.
10 But You, O LORD, be merciful to me, and raise me up,
That I may repay them.
11 By this I know that You are well pleased with me,
Because my enemy does not triumph over me.
12 As for me, You uphold me in my integrity,
And set me before Your face forever.
13 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel
From everlasting to everlasting!
Amen and Amen.
My dear brothers and sisters:
As you read this Psalm, sit back , close your eyes and try to imagine the setting that David is in. A King with a deeply troubled heart and in despair. It may have seemed to David that his world was crumbling around him and that he may have fallen from the Blessing of God. It seems here in this writing that their were plots against him and that those closest to him may have turned against him. In His time of trouble David turned to the Lord, acknowledged his sins and confessed them to his God, remembered to remain humble and humane. This man, this king...He was a person like us. A person with wants and desires. A person of the times and world. A person with Joys and troubles. A person with friends and enemies. A person with successes and failures. A person that has done good and has done evil in his life. He was human and has sinned much. David is a wonderful example of Gods Saving Grace and Love. not just once did David sin, but many times and each time he had sinned and fallen, he looked toward God, confessed his sin's, asked for forgiveness and repented with purity of heart. My beloved friends, I say to you...In this Psalm is an example of a sinners and servants daily Love for His King, Lord and God. In times of Joy and trouble, seek His face and open your heart to His Grace. You are His child and there is no provision He will deny you if you are truly and spiritually willing to accept in accordance to His will. God bless you all and all that you do, may He lay his Loving and Faithful hand upon you and deliver you of all your ailments and worries. Lots of Love
your brother
Dan
