And, you know, we ARE actually allowed to be mistaken. It is only by mistakes that we learn for ourselves. In fact, i believe there is no real failure - just feedback that we need to do something differently or try harder or pray deeper. A good pinch of humility also comes in handy. God protect us (and i use that phrase with care) from those that always think they they are right. Such people will often be highly critical of Papal Infallibility - and yet may think themselves infallible.
