My Dear brother Jim
I am saddened for the moment that you are no longer physically here for me to be with and talk to. I rejoice in the fact that you are no longer in pain and suffering from the illnesses of this world. I am pleased and filled with joy in knowing that you will be there when my mission is accomplished and I return to base camp. There are oh so many scriptures that provide me with comfort, but there is one that i particularly like and share with you.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 (NKJV)
The Comfort of Christ’s Coming
13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.[a]
Footnotes:
a.1 Thessalonians 4:14 Or those who through Jesus sleep
Rest in Peace my dear brother Jim, you fought the good fight and Godspeed.
Taps (Note: there are no "official" words to Taps
below are the most popular.)
Day is done,
gone the sun,
From the hills,
from the lake,
From the skies.
All is well,
safely rest,
God is nigh.
Go to sleep,
peaceful sleep,
May the soldier
or sailor,
God keep.
On the land
or the deep,
Safe in sleep.
Love, good night,
Must thou go,
When the day,
And the night
Need thee so?
All is well.
Speedeth all
To their rest.
Fades the light;
And afar
Goeth day,
And the stars
Shineth bright,
Fare thee well;
Day has gone,
Night is on.
Thanks and praise,
For our days,
'Neath the sun,
Neath the stars,
'Neath the sky,
As we go,
This we know,
God is nigh.
God Bless you all and lots of Love
Your brother
Dan
