Even his terminology was quite exciting - to me. Often, while waiting my turn, I'd see other lads being ushered into the cubicle with him saying things like "Let's get you under the dryer now" or "Time to get you properly dried - just relax, I'll get you out shortly". I used to time them under the dryer and it used to be between 20 and 30 minutes. Once the humming stopped and the cape would be shaken and rattle loudly, the client would come out, very red-faced and pay and leave. Once, when little cutting was needed, I was under the dryer within minutes of a guy coming out of the cubicle and the heat and smell of warm rubber in there was breathtaking.
