Alongside this has existed, from an early age, a heat fetish - specifically hood hairdryers. As a boy, I would see people (mainly women but some men) having their hair dried under dryers and be both fascinated and a little scared when I saw these people apparently suffering with, often, very red faces, their heads almost completely under what appeared to be instruments of torture for long periods. I was 17 by the time I found myself under an old, all metal, dryer hood in a very basic men's hairdressers. All I'd had was a haircut and shampoo but I was netted, ears protected and had the huge hood lowered to my shoulders. I roasted for about 30 minutes in a cubicle before I was taken out of the dryer to be told the man had forgotten to give me the temperature controller!
The place had something of a military "theme" and the proprietor used rubberised army capes as well as the more usual nylon/PVC type. While under the dryer, I was in one of the army type and sweated profusely in the cape. What would have been an endurance test for many was extremely stimulating for me and the smell of hot metal and warm rubber was just so exciting. By pure "fluke" the two stimulations had come together with, clearly, an element of bondage thrown in.
At the time, I longed to play under the cape but dared not in case it became noisy and could have been heard over the humming of the dryer. I need not have worried, as it turned out, I discovered, on subsequent visits, the hairdresser enjoyed making his clients sweat under the dryer - he admitted he hadn't forgotten the temperature dial, he just liked to see how long guys could stand the heat! It can only have been fate that led me to such a basic barbers having no idea what lay within! I have been under dryers - legitimately! - many times since then, including having my hair set a number of times in a traditional ladies' hair salon and now also enjoy private sessions both solo and with special pals, where the dryer predominates and the two fetishes come powerfully together to produce some devastating pleasures.
This is rather peripheral to those whose main interest is actual hairdressing, I'm afraid, but I notice that the dryer experience features prominently with many and I feel there are fellow spirits here!
