This article seems to show how many specs are different even from the original and the "slim":

IGN also did a review showing the small differences in things as detailed as the power button and the USB ports:

You know what drives me nuts with some of these IGN "articles"? They're basically a transcript of the video review.
I'm not sure how many games PS4 has in common with XBox One, but would I be correct in guessing that even if Rick has "Rock Band 4" on XBox One and I have "Rock Band 4" on PS4, we can't connect to each other in multiplayer mode? I don't know if you still play "Mario Kart 8" in the online mode for Wii U, Rick (assuming you did for a while). I'm just thinking about how we probably haven't been able to game together since the X-Band days (and even then, I don't think we played head-to-head in one of the games). I have you in my "Mario Kart Wii" game, but that online service might not work anymore.
In terms of PlayStation 4, I'm not really attracted to the Pro at all. There might only be a difference on a 4K TV set with "High Dynamic Range" (HDR), and I won't be able to afford one of those for a while. When the PS4 design originally came out, I thought it was UGLY, but more interesting than the plain rectangular design of the XBox One. I even have a Blu-Ray player from Sony now that has the weird mixture of dark black and a more matte finish elsewhere. I'm not sure why the new PS4 machines don't even have that blue stripe across the top. They rounded off those edges for some reason. Now it just looks too generic. I'm not sure if that should factor into buying a console, though. The NES is just a strange box, but they did do a remake. Was the Wii ever remade? I think so, in a "mini" format with no online features. When I try to find the black version, that also seems a bit crippled with the online features missing. I almost wish they had released a black Wii from the start, since the white one looks a little plain. Wii U doesn't even sell you a white console anymore, right?
Well, it seems like I'm the kind of customer being targeted by "slim." If you were to buy the "OG" (what does that stand for?), the only bundle I've seen is "Call of Shooty." I really don't want most of those games, but are they just an optional download or a physical disc? The slim would probably save electricity, and I like how IGN mentioned the quieter disc drive (Wii can be a little loud during load screens, too). I kind of like the older controllers at the moment, since it's hard to tell if putting a blue light on the front of the controller could be annoying. Right now, you don't even have to look at it. The other strange thing to me is how, if the 500 GB slim costs $299, what would they charge for the 1 TB version? The same? I would guess less money than a Pro, or else why not buy the Pro. I'm not sure if any source has mentioned the release date for the 1 TB slim yet. I'm afraid that would be bundled with the 2016 "Call of Shooty" in November.
