With "Rock Band," I only remember playing part three on XBox 360 in 2010. According to Wikipedia, 2009 was the time when that genre (rhythm games) was declining (I'm usually a "late bloomer" anyway). The group I was going to that had the game also had the keyboard (instrument), although it didn't work on some of the older downloadable songs. Then I was surprised to read that "Rock Band 4" never plans to bring the keyboard back into the mix.
Since I don't have any of the older instruments, wouldn't it make sense to buy the bundle with the newer ones? I actually haven't seen the game by itself without coming in a bundle. The "band in a box" one is somehow appealing. I've never tried to play drums (maybe once in real life). The part I actually liked best on the third game were the vocals. Let someone else try to figure out how to hold two or three colors on that plastic guitar! Maybe I just needed more practice? I think the "band in a box" only includes one guitar. You can choose lead guitar or bass in the game, right? The one guitar can be either one? I was thinking there might be a bass guitar accessory that's sold by itself.
I don't know. That could be a neat game, or something that collects dust. I think I was reading that the newest game didn't come with ANY online features, but they do plan to add that in a later update. I'm just curious how that would work? You could play with someone else as long as they had the same console? The online would cross over between consoles? Has there ever been a game where more than one console and PC gamers could all play the online mode together? I think "Street Fighter 5" was advertising that ability (although it's not on XBox One), but it made me curious about how that would happen from a technical perspective. PlayStation 4 might understand a little bit of PC programming language. Somebody would have to be the server (A PC? A console? Sony or Capcom have their own servers?). In Wii games, the online experience seemed to vary based on who was the server, so I assumed it was someone's console from that group of players.
Well, a bunch of thoughts and questions there! I hope most of them sound related to each other.
