TV Title: 3-Big E (c) vs 6-Venom
Rung 1: VACANT
Rung 2: 7-Vader vs 8-Road Dogg
Rung 3: 9-Sting '91 vs 10-Razor Ramon vs 11-Lord Steven Regal

Hopefuls Pool: 18-Viktor vs ???
With the conclusion of the Lucky 7 Series, the XTW Singles Rankings becomes the first to start the new World Title Contender Tournament concept. It's a 16-man tournament with seedings being based on the Rankings at the time the tournament starts. So let's look at the opening pairings...
1-Scorpion vs 16-JBL
8-Road Dogg vs 9-Sting '91
5-Retro Rick vs 12-Brian Pillman
4-Big Show vs 13-General Adnan
3-Big E vs 14-Mankind
6-Venom vs 11-Lord Steven Regal
7-Vader vs 10-Razor Ramon
2-Triple H vs 15-Goldust
Remember, unlike normal tournaments these match ups are most likely NOT head-to-head. Instead on each show a tournament match is won when the character wins the match they're in while their opponent loses the match they're in. It's like WWE's "Beat The Clock" challenge but without a clock. :-P So if both characters in a match up win or both lose or one doesn't compete, that pairing will carry over to the next show. Of course if someone that's in the tournament drops out of the Rankings, they are eliminated from the tournament regardless.
When we get to the tournament final, that WILL be a head-to-head match to determine who gets the World Title shot on that same show. Now, being that even current title holders are in the tournament with a chance to win, if it ends up that the current World Champion is in and wins the tournament final, consider it defending his title without actually having to put it on the line. Also, this creates an opportunity for someone to be a double title holder. If thel then current TV or US champ gets a shot and wins the World Title, they'll lay claim to them both having to defend both as normal if they have a challenger for each. But when one or both titles are lost, they'll simply maintain whatever the higher position is that they hold.
Also keep in mind that this adds a level of importance to potential Unranked matches as, although they are unranked, they are a Rankings match and have an impact on the tournament. So if you have 3 characters in an Unranked match, you might decide to book a handicap match to hinder someone's opportunity in the tournament. Or on one of the 3 Rungs you might actually want the 3rd guy to sit out to help him in case his tournament opponent has a favorable match up. Also, in the Contenders Pool, if you choose an elimination tag match not only will the survivor(s) move up, it counts as a win for the survivor(s) which could help their chances in the tournament. Basically there are just added dimensions to think about when laying out your booking plans for the show. I'm excited to get this new concept going! Of course you can also not worry about it and just book based on the match itself. I just like that there's a deeper element now but one that doesn't have to be used. :-D
Alright, let's get to booking the next show! From the roster and match types below submit the following to help shape the next event...
World Title: 1-Scorpion (c) vs 4-Big Show... Submit a match type and who, if anyone, should accompany the competitor(s) to the ring.
US Title: 2-Triple H (c) vs 5-Retro Rick... Submit a match type and who, if anyone, should accompany the competitor(s) to the ring.
TV Title: 3-Big E (c) vs 6-Venom... Submit a match type and who, if anyone, should accompany the competitor(s) to the ring.
Rung 2: 7-Vader vs 8-Road Dogg... Submit a match type and who, if anyone, should accompany the competitor(s) to the ring.
Rung 3: 9-Sting '91 vs 10-Razor Ramon vs 11-Lord Steven Regal... Choose the option you want and submit what is needed for that option...
Contenders Pool: 12-Brian Pillman vs 13-General Adnan vs 14-Mankind vs 15-Goldust vs 16-JBL vs 17-Jim Neidhart... Submit a 6-man match type. NOTE: If you choose a tag or elimination tag scenario the teams will be Pillman/Mankind/JBL vs Adnan/Goldust/Neidhart. In a normal tag the one scoring the fall moves up and the one giving up the fall moves down. In an elimination tag the survivor(s) move up and the rest are re-seeded based on elimination order.
Hopefuls Pool: 18-Viktor vs ???... From the roster below and NOT INCLUDING anyone injured or in the updated Rankings above, submit your Top 10 picks to be entered into the next Hopefuls Pool.
