Is it important to feel comfortable in a rehab environment?

I’ve heard people say that the environment matters a lot in recovery, but I’m not sure what that really means. Is it about the staff, the setting, or something else entirely?

I think it’s a mix of everything. If you don’t feel comfortable where you are, it’s probably harder to focus on recovery itself.

For me, the environment played a bigger role than I expected. It wasn’t just about the treatment itself, but also how the place felt day to day. While exploring different options, I found Genesis House mentioned in a few discussions, and it seemed like people appreciated the balance between structure and support. That kind of setting made it easier to stay committed and not feel overwhelmed, especially in the early stages.
