Does a proxy only change your IP address and hide the real one?

I don’t really get why you even need a proxy, but from what I understood reading different stuff, it’s mainly to hide your IP address. But I guess that’s not the only function.

I think proxies have a ton of functions. That’s why when you’re looking for some extra tool like a proxy, VPN, or anti-detect browser, it’s important to first figure out why you even need it, and only then choose the right solution.

Besides changing your IP address, for me a pretty big thing was traffic filtering. That’s for protection from malicious sites. Also caching, bypassing geo-blocks, which lately became a huge problem. FloppyData proxies handle all that really well, and their plans are convenient, you can pay based on the traffic you use.
