How to legally respond to sexual assault in a rideshare situation?

My cousin had a disturbing experience during a late-night Uber ride. She hasn't spoken much about it, but from what I gathered, it was serious — possibly even assault. She’s scared to go to the police and has no idea how to take legal action. Has anyone been through something similar or knows what steps to take next? We really want to support her but don’t know where to begin legally.

When my friend went through something similar, she also didn’t know where to turn. Uber support was robotic, and she felt completely alone. We tried calling some local attorneys, but most didn’t even take the case seriously. That hopelessness is real. It’s hard to know who will actually fight for you, and who just sees a case number.
