I tend to like skull artwork that has a clear focal point rather than filling every part of the shirt with detail. That makes the design feel stronger to me and also easier to combine with other clothes. I have a few more elaborate graphics that I enjoy, but the ones I wear most are usually balanced and readable from a distance. A design can still have plenty of personality without needing to be visually loud everywhere.
