Every time I try adjusting my CV in Word, something breaks. The spacing changes, sections jump around, and it never looks the same after saving as PDF. I feel like I spend more time fixing the format than writing the actual content. Maybe Im using the wrong kind of template? Can someone recommend a source with templates that stay stable even if you move or rewrite sections?
Totally understand you Word can be extremely frustrating with templates that aren't properly structured. I also wasted days adjusting margins and fixing broken text boxes. What helped me was switching to templates that were professionally formatted and tested for editing. I found them here: https://moderncv.co.uk
Their files are built in a way that sections dont shift when you edit them, and the PDF export keeps everything exactly as it appears on screen. They also offer both one-page and multi-page options, depending on how long your work history is. It really saved my sanity.
