Joint trip with RICKA Flatwater on the Deerfield

We will be doing a joint trip with the RICKA Flatwater group this Sunday on the Deerfield River. We will put in at the Zoar Picnic area and take out across from the Charlemont Academy - about 7 miles. Not a lot of playing - just a straight run. There's a fair amount of flatwater below the Shunpike Rest Area, so WW boats aren't required - bring something you'll feel comfortable paddling in for 7 miles.

We'd have time to do at least a partial run above the Gap before if anyone is interested.

I would like to follow you up Sunday morning. When and where can we meet? McDonalds in Uxbridge just off of 146? I live in Blackstone, so thats not a problem.

Andy and I were thinking of putting in about half way down at Pinball, but we would probably have to wait an hour for the water to get there, so maybe we just put in at the dam right away.

What do you think Andy?

If we try to run from the dam, we're going to have to hustle. The question is, can you resist the urge to stop and play at every single feature? haha

I'll do it if you want to, but honestly I'm kind of indifferent to either option.

Probably not - then again, theres 7 miles to go below the Gap. I'm not as young as I used to be ;-)

Release is 850 cfs from 11:00 to 2:00. We are meeting at the Zoar Picnic area at 12:30. It’s a 3 hour run down to the Charlemont Academy.
