OK, the deal I'd heard before leaving wilmy was that filming would begin June 1 and finish June 30 (June 30 being the deadline for work stoppage if indeed there is another strike). With filming to begin June 18th, and with a supposed end date of June 30 (because while AFTRA has come to a deal, SAG has not, and OTH is SAG), how does this even make logical sense? Please understand I'm not question the dates, as I'm hearing the 18th from several sources too, but am questioning the practicalitly of bringing the whole cast back, as well as the crew (some were in town, some weren't), and starting up the process of filming for only 12 days? It takes longer than that to prep for the first episode! (often there's about 2 weeks or more of prep before the first ep is filmed). Also, what about the financial burden of this, because it can't be cheap to get all this work done to only accomplish 1 episode. (For those unaware, an episode takes 8 working days to complete, so theres at least 1 weekend in there, and no chance to fit a second episode in...) I think we'd better not hear any moaning from the network over money woes if they have the cash to pull this sort of thing...
Also, what happens if there is a deal struck, therefore negating any strike, what happens then? Does OTH continue filming? And what about the fact that the actors are supposed to be on hiatus right now? (mind you, most actors use their hiatus to film other projects, but still, this is supposed to be a time of vacation).
Of course, I'm happy to have any episodes of season 6 filmed versus none in the somewhat likely case of a strike, so again I say "I'm confused"
