My Aunt had something like that happen with her in January 2007. Drs. told her she either had a fast-acting form of lung cancer, or a virus that caused lesions on the lung that looked like lung cancer. Anyway, Drs. insisted that it was lung cancer, and that she only had three months to live. She and her daughters opted not to do treatments, but just to let it run its course (she was 91 at the time). Well, I am happy to say that we visited her a year ago, and she was not dying then, and is still very much alive and well and very active, and will (hopefully) see her 93rd birthday at the end of May!
