I wasn't expecting the Missoula flood presentation, but it was well done and pretty informational. The cost of membership is pretty darn reasonable for one person (a buck a month paid in advance)and I won one of the door prizes, a very nice amethyst crystal that was bigger than a bic lighter.
Other members brought samples of their finished jewelry rocks, samples of petrified wood, and a mineral called natrolite. I was able to get a display sample of it for a minimal donation.
I have to say it was a great experience for me. Heck, it would be a great first experience for anyone interested in rockhounding. So many things I could say here, just come to a meeting, you wont regret it.
