May 25-26 marks the dates of the 10th Annual Birchfield Memorial Tournament and it will be played in Josh Birchfield’s home town of Westville, IN. Josh paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country in Afghanistan. The event will take the first 16 teams who pay either a $100.00 deposit of pay the entire $250.00 entry fee. This is a NSA Paper Roster event; however, teams may use their NSA on line roster providing all players are on that roster.
The event is open to NSA Silver and Bronze teams and a team may have no more than two (2) players who carry a point value of 6.0 – 7.99. Teams are allowed four (4) Home Runs per game with any additional HR being an out. NSA rules will govern play. Teams may hit any NSA approved softball.
As always, the committee will have pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, chip, and soft drinks with a donation being requested. There will be a Home Run Derby Friday from 5:30 – 7:30. Only players who are in the event can participate in the derby. The bracket will be drawn on Wednesday May 22 at 6:30PM at the Blackhawk in downtown Westville. Teams are encouraged to bring pop-ups, lawn chairs, and coolers and enjoy the weekend. Play will begin at 8:00AM (CST) on the 25th.
