Thank You to everyone that participated in the Battle Of Camden BBQ Festival

A big shout out to all the cook teams and judges that participated in the Annual Battle of Camden BBQ Festival. Thank you for making this event very successful. I can’t say enough about the awesome job the Camden Jaycees do make sure the cook teams and judges have everything they need and all the hard work they put into making sure all goes smoothly. You guys sure make my job an easy one. The judges enjoyed the new facility we had to judge in this year. Winners for the wings contest on Friday night were: 1st Place, Pimp My Pig; 2nd Place Blazin’ Bullets Barbeque; and 3rd Place Piggy Fins BBQ. Saturday Winners were in Ribs: 1st Place, Tail-Gater Hater; 2nd Place, Smoke Central; and 3rd Place, Monkey Bottom Boys. In Butts the winners were: 1st Place Monkey Bottom Boys; 2nd Place, Tail-Gater Hater; 3rd Place, S’Lowcountry Q; and 4th Place Pimp My Pig. There were 2-16+s in ribs and 5-16+s in butts. Congratulations to everyone that got a call. A special thanks to the judges that performed these special assignments for me: David Graham, Assistant Marshal Outstanding Job. Mike Wilson, Calculator. Don Adkins out SCBA Vice President our official Photographer. Penny Fletcher and Marsha Adkins on the Receiving Table My Table Captains: Susan Straub, James Pawlowski, and Ben Jimison. Helen Hall for serving as my Novice Instructor. My Runner Director, Doug Jaquays and Holding Table Coordinator, Gene Benfield. Our Midlands Marshal Richard Kirby for serving as my official horn blower. And to the Kathryn Weatherhead and Jason Massey for serving as my runners. Also, a thanks to Jet Gilson for being my inside runner and filling the carry home bags for the judges. Great job everyone! Congratulations to the judges got their certified aprons and that advanced in rank.

Great job Steve and all other SCBA and Jaycees members for a grate event. Excellent place to hold this event with plenty of room all cook teams, Saturday morning biscuit, great bands, and quick action from Jaycees to correct minor electrical issue.
