I have done charcoal + propane to death, and am itching to get a stick burner. My wife is advising me to test drive it before I sink a bunch of money into a nice one - and I agree! I have a history of getting hot + cold on hobbies and sinking a pile of money into one before jumping ship.
I've already kind of ruled out the "cheap, thin metal, big box store offset" - I'd prefer to try out the real deal and see what its like. Does anyone have a quality stick burner - trailered or trailerable - that I could borrow to cook on for a weekend? I am in West Ashley but will travel -
I have a homebuilt reverse flow offset that we have won with and done well with its based off a lang design and can cook a ton of food. It is an old oil drum but the firebox and diffuser inside are made of 1/4" steel and the doors are 1/8" diamond plate steel. can usually burn for 1-1.25 hrs on 4-5 pieces of split wood. My number is 864-809-7628. You can look up my team Dozed and B'qued we used this in competition for two yrs 17'-18'. and we are located in Spartanburg its for sale currently text my number for pics you will need a trailer to tow it but it can cook 20+ butts in pans I also have a half cord of split pecan that can go with it if purchased. Its a great cooker that burns clean and was always kept inside.

Are you willing to sell the pecan wood? If so, how much for a level Chevrolet 1500 full size pickup load. How long has it been cut?9
