Thank you to each of the judges who signed up to participate in Project Host’s 7th Annual BBQ Cook-Off. The Competition Cook-off is held April 29-30 in conjunction with the South Carolina Barbeque Association and the City of Greenville. The event Festival will also feature a Chicken Wing Competition on Friday night 6-10 PM. (Judged by 1st Responders) Hope you can come on Friday and enjoy the beautiful downtown Greenville area. Falls Park is a favorite that is just breathtaking! Bring your family to make a weekend out of it!
The Festival is held in downtown Greenville on Main Street across from the Courtyard Marriott and the Peace Center. The parking garage behind the Courtyard Marriott is the suggested parking preference. Be careful about parking on the street or private parking areas as most of these are reserved and subject to towing. The link to the location & directions are on this web page. Let the Judging COMMENCE! Saturday, April 30, 2016, we will be at the tent early. You can arrive, sign in, mingle, and the judges meeting will commence promptly at 9 AM.
DON’T FORGET TO BRING YOUR GOLD SHEETS. We will be judging 2 categories: BUTTS AND RIBS. The turn in time for Butts & TBA at the judges briefing. I need to know if any of you will be moving to another level in the SCBA judging hierarchy. If this is your 4th judging event, you will be receiving your SCBA apron. If you will be receiving your SCBA Senior Judge hat if you have judged in 15 events and cooked at least one (1) time with a BBQ Cooking team. OR if you will be receiving your SCBA Master Judge Hat if you have judged in 30 events and cooked with at least three (3) BBQ cooking teams.
If any of you have a family member that is cooking with a team at the Project Host Greenville, I need to remind you that you will not be able to judge in this event. We do have other duties that you can do but you will not be able to judge in this event. Let me know if any of you fit into this category.
Lastly, I count on each of you to be there if you signed up for this event. We all know that our schedules change from time to time and if this happens I kindly ask that you notify me so that I know how to prepare appropriately.
