Merry Christmas from Destination BBQ!
Some of you may know we have been working on a SC BBQ Locator Map.
I believe we have entered every location in SC at this time. We are working to test our map and refine our entries.
As part of this process, I am hoping you might help.
If and when you have the time (especially if you are out and about and decide you're in the mood for some BBQ), please give the map test drive.
It should request permission to access your location (which you can deny if you prefer), and then it will auto-fill the search bar with your information.
If you choose not to allow it to access your location, it will default to Sumter, which I chose due to its central location in the state.
If you then enter your zip code and search, it should show you the closest 25 restaurants in a 100 mile radius. The distance and number of restaurants can be adjusted.
Here is a "backdoor" link to the map (won't require you to enter your email address to get to the map):
We are eager to hear your comments, corrections, criticisms and more.
You are welcome to comment in the comment section below the map or to simply send me an email:
jroller@mac.com
Thank you for your help and the happiest of holidays.
See you at the judge's seminar in Conway!
Sincerely,
Jim Roller destination-bbq.com

That would be great. Thanks. I'd like to "release" it publicly around Jan. 1, but sure would like some people to bang on it first.
I am sure there must be some places that are new or have gone out of business that need to be corrected. Also, with all the data I hand entered, I'm certain there are bound to be errors here and there.
Any feedback would help.
Thanks,
Jim

Thanks for the info, Ken. Sorry it isn't working for you.
I have included a screenshot of what you should see when you load the page. You should see the words: This content is password protected. To view it please enter your password below:
And below that a box labeled Password: where you would enter scbbq
The Disqus login at the bottom is really just for leaving comments and is not needed to see the map. The only thing needed is the password.
Have you tried in a different browser, maybe? Are you using Internet Explorer? Chrome? Firefox?
Any/all info you can provide may help me find if others are having similar issues with similar systems.
In the end, of course, no password will be needed to use the map, as I will remove that protection. Just wanted to limit who had a chance to see/use it until it was "finished."
Sorry for the hassle and thanks for the feedback.

Great to hear. Sorry for the trouble and thanks for the kind words. If you have any thoughts or suggestions for features/content for the site, I am all ears. I do have some ideas long term for the direction I will take it, but this is a one man (and wife) show, so it will take time to build it out.
Look forward to meeting you as well.
