We are quickly approaching Hub City Hog Fest 2026 on April 10th and 11th!
On behalf of the Hub City Hog Fest and Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, I would like to thank you for your interest in Hog Fest over the last several years. Because of your generosity—either in competing, volunteering, or just helping spread the word—we have donated over $550,000 to Mobile Meals since the inception of the Hog Fest.
For the 2026 Hub City Hog Fest, the event will take place right downtown at the corner of Church and Main Streets in Spartanburg, SC, as it has since 2016. The city will close several streets around Morgan Square, and this event will take place in the very heart of Spartanburg once again. As we look forward to new and exciting times with features such as a Minor League baseball stadium, a first-of-its-kind joint government complex, and many other state-of-the-art developments, Hub City Hog Fest is poised to remain a unique experience for the SCBA competition circuit.
We will kick things off on April 10, 2026, and will run as usual through April 11, 2026. Overall cash prizes will be $3,000 for 1st place, $2,500 for 2nd place, and $2,000 for 3rd place. There will be additional cash prizes awarded for individual categories. More information on that and other important details can be found on our website: www.hubcityhogfest.com. We are in the process of updating our website to reflect these new changes.
Each team will have individual water hookups and electrical support. We will again feature several judged categories. Friday night will include a chicken wing competition, while Saturday will focus on Boston butts. Pitmaster Challenge categories will include ribs and brisket. Competitors are required to provide their own spare ribs and brisket for the Pitmaster Challenge. All Pitmaster Challenge entries will be judged in accordance with SCBA rules.
Pitmaster Challenge Entry Fee: $25 per entry. Of this amount, $5 will be donated to Mobile Meals, and the remaining $20 will be allocated to a winner-take-all prize pot.
As always, the event includes a BBQ competition, an awards ceremony for the winning Que, delicious food, beer and other drinks from local vendors, and great live music both Friday and Saturday night. We are so thrilled about all of the support that Hub City Hog Fest has received from folks like you, and we hope we can count on your team being there in April 2026 to help us kick off the Hog Fest once again.
Please find attached the official entry form for Hog Fest 2026. It is time to start registering your teams. The entry fee is $250 per team. Please note that if your team requires more electricity than four standard 20-amp plugs, there will be a $30 surcharge. There is a place on the application to indicate that you need additional electricity. If you do not indicate that you need additional electricity on your application, we cannot guarantee that it will be available to you. I have attached pictures of various plugs and outlets. If your plug fits these shapes, then you need additional electricity and should note that on your application.
Each team receives two free event t-shirts. Please note the sizes you will need on your application. Additional t-shirts are available for purchase at $10 per shirt.
The competition will again be conducted in accordance with the SC BBQ Association Rules and Regulations, which are also attached. Hub City Hog Fest will provide each team with 8 boston butts as part of your entry fee. Additional butts are available for those that request them. You are responsible for RIBS and BRISKET. Your team may compete in any or all categories.
I hope that you and your team will consider being a part of this event again.
With warmest regards,
Brad Blackwell
