Thank you for signing up to judge the Ferris Wheels and Piggy Squeals Spring Fair Festival, in Union, SC on Saturday April 9th also known as the “The Union Butts and Boogie Festival”.

Judging will take place at the Union County Fairgrounds, inside the Clemson University Building, or an adjacent building, so look for the SCBA judge signs for direction. The fairgrounds address is 120 Kirby Street, Union, SC 29379. The best parking location for judges is from US-176, turn on Old Buffalo Rd between Zaxby’s & KFC/Taco Bell. At the first street, Kirby St, turn right. Enter the gate on the left, past the exhibit buildings, and tell security you are with the SCBA. Park beside the first beige building.
Upon entering the gate, please be sure to have something identifiable, associating you with the SCBA (shirt, name tag, apron, hat, copy of this brief, etc.), so security will let you into the fairgrounds.
The judges meeting will start promptly at 9:00 am and table assignments have already been made for this event. If you’re late to the meeting, your seat will be filled.
Turn-in times are as follows: 10:00 am (9:50 am – 10:05 am) – Pork
11:00 am (10:50 am – 11:05 am) – Ribs (Team Option)
If you'll be receiving an apron or hat and have not yet notified us or posted it on the website, when you signed up, please get touch with us so we can be prepared to present it to you, on Saturday.
If any of you have a family member that is cooking with a team, in Union, I need to remind you that you will not be able to judge in this event but we can assign you to other duties to help assist. Please let us know ASAP if have a family member cooking in this event.
Also, please remember not to fraternize with the cook teams or enter their cooking area on Saturday morning until all judging is officially over with. After all judging has been completed, we encourage you to go out and talk with the cook teams and thank them.
The awards ceremony will be held at 2:30 PM, on the main stage. Please make plans to stay if you can.
Lastly, if you are signed up for this event and are unable to attend, for any reason, I ask that you please let us know ASAP because we are counting on your attendance.
