I just wanted to thank everyone who participated in this past weekend's BBQ cook off in Pendleton. For a first time event, every thing went amazingly well and our event organizer is already looking forward to next year!
I appreciate each one of the 16 cook teams who competed. As you can tell from the high scores, all of the BBQ was delicious!
A huge thank you to all of the judges who made their way to the upstate. The weather didn't cooperate as well as we had hoped and I appreciate your understanding with some last minute changes to our outside judging. Most of these changes involved the novices and I am truly grateful for their patience.
A special thanks to those who performed the special assignments - Gene Benfield, Danny Watts, Tamra Tootle, Rick Parnell, Tyler James, Robert Rosenberg, Brian Snavely, Margo Seddon and Sharon Beckett. (Please forgive me if I have overlooked anyone.)
I am truly appreciative for my team of Chad Carter as calculator and Don Adkins as assistant marshal as they went above and beyond in performing their duties.
It's a great feeling when the hard work of so many different people comes together to make such a successful event!
