This is not an Official SCBA response to your question, just what I know. Any organizer can pick any date they want for their contest. About the only time the SCBA will have an issue with that date is if there are already two contests scheduled on that weekend. There are two problems with the third contest on a weekend, getting enough judges to fairly judge the entries and enough teams to enter to actually make a contest worthwhile to the organizer. Did this make sense? Bottom line is, don’t blame the SCBA!

Is there a reason that Williamston moved to the second weekend in May instead of the third weekend like in the past? Now they are up against Chester, who I've heard specifically moved last year to the second weekend so they would not compete with another event.
Seems kind of weird since the third weekend doesn't have an event this year.
