Greetings fellow Judges,
Thank you for signing up to judge the inaugural Liberty BBQ & Jeep Fest, in Liberty, SC on Saturday May 8th.
If you are receiving this email, then Gene and I are counting on your participation.
Judging will take place in downtown Liberty, SC; across from beautiful Sarlin Park. The address is 119 West Front Street. Please NOTE: A large part of West Front Street will be blocked off but there’s plenty of parking on Depot Street, which is located directly behind the building. It will be best to access Depot Street, via West Front Street, from US 178. There will be shuttle services there for those who cannot walk up steps.
The judges meeting will start promptly at 9:00 am and table assignments have already been made for this event so please allow sufficient time to arrive. If you’re late to the meeting and assigned a seat as a judge, your seat will be filled by a volunteer judge on standby.
Turn-in times are as follows: 10:00 am (9:50 am – 10:05 am) – Pork
11:00 am (10:50 am – 11:05 am) – Ribs (Team Option)
If you'll be receiving an apron or hat and have not yet notified me or posted it on the website, when you signed up, please get in touch with me so Gene and I can be prepared to present it to you, on Saturday.
If any of you have a family member that is cooking with a team, in Liberty, I need to remind you that you will not be able to judge in this event but we can assign you to other duties to help assist. Please let me know ASAP if you have a family member cooking in this event.
Also, please remember not to fraternize with the cook teams or enter their cooking area on Saturday morning until all judging is officially over with. After all judging has been completed, I encourage you to go out and talk with the cook teams and thank them.
The awards ceremony will be held at 3:00 PM, on the main stage, in Sarlin Park. Please make plans to stay if you can.
Here you can find the link to review the 2021 SCBA COVID-19 Guidelines, including the supplies each judge must provide for themselves.

Gene and I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday May 8, 2021, and if you have any questions between now and the day of the event, please call.
