Friday night, April 26th @ 6 PM is an Anything Butt Competition that the cook teams cook starters, sweets, or sides and then sell to the public. This is judged by the local First Responders that Project Host invites to judge. On occasion, the first responders are called out to a call and we have had to round up people to help. So, if you are already in the area, please come by and see if we can use your expertise.
The Judges meeting on Saturday will start promptly at 9 AM. We will be judging 3 meats: Butts, Ribs, and Brisket. Because Project Host wants to start serving to the public by 11 AM, we will having a faster turn in time than the usual 1 hour between meats. Please make sure that you are on time for the meeting as the details will be explained at that time. Please allow time for construction slowdowns on the 385 interstate if that is your path to downtown Greenville.
If any of you are moving up in the hierarchy of the SCBA, please let us know if you have not done so already. We want to make sure that we have aprons and hats available for those who are moving up. If any of you have family members who are cooking with a team, you will not be able to judge at this event but we will find a place for you to work within the judging tent.
Also, we know things come up from time to time and you are not able to make your commitment to judge. This is understandable and all we ask is that you let us know prior to the day of the event if at all possible. We know that your lives are busy and have a hundred things that you could be doing instead of this. We want you to know that your sacrifices are appreciated and thank you in advance for providing you mastery skills.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the Project Host BBQ Cook off on Saturday, April 27th. Come early and mingle with the fellow judges. We do NOT allow mingling with the Cook teams prior to the judging on Saturday. After the competition you are encouraged to go and fellowship with the cook teams all that you want.
See you soon at Greenville’s’ Project Host BBQ Competition! South Carolina is the Barbeque State!
