This August the Forrest L. Woods Bass Fishing Contest will be held in Columbia and at Lake Murray. Unlike last time when we had 35 teams, this time only a select few cook teams will be invited. Those teams will act as vendors to the thousands of visitors that will come into Columbia over a three day period (August 11-13, 2017).

In a few days we will issue an invitation to the top 12 cook teams in South Carolina. That message will come by email. You will need to respond by letter (not email) to the SCBA. We will accept the first 8 that respond by letter based on the time and date on the postmark.

The barbeque will not be judged by the SCBA (or anyone), so this is not a contest. Each team will act as a vendor and they may keep all of their income except a percentage that the team determines that will need to go to a charity of the team’s choice.

The teams will be allowed to sell a large number of items. There will be more details on this in the coming email. There will be no entry fee but there will be a small vendor’s fee of only $50.

This should be a great opportunity for your team to make some extra money this year, aid a charity of your choice and spread your brand to thousands of visitors!
