We got home last night from the first ANNUAL Cooker's Banquet in Columbia. So thankful that they invited the judges to join them. Just want to put shout out to Tesa and Gene Culbertson as well as Gary Taylor for their inspiration for the event. A LOT of work went into this. I am not sure how many were there, but my guess is that it was about 80-100 people. I was really glad that we stayed for the event after the Marshal's meeting earlier that day. We had great fellowship, good food, lots of laughs, and met a lot of the wifes that we never knew existed. I did not get a picture of the glass mugs that Tesa etched the SCBA logo on, but it was really very nice. I cannot imagine how much time it took to do all of the mugs. It was so thoughtful of her to give each Cookers Team that was there one of the mugs. It was even personalized mug with the cook team's name on it. I would love to see some of the banquet pictures posted on here. I also admire someone (Wayne Preston) that can be spiritual and laugh at the same time. His closing poem and prayer was priceless. Thankful to be part of this big SCBA family. <3 We have friends that we will always cherish!
