Unfortunately, I cannot get the Message Board to accept the simple graphs that I tried to send. However, the narative says it all. The average winning scores have been increasing for years except for this year (2016) which has seen a slight downturn. Since we have so few data points (10) for 2016 rather than the usual 30 to 35 or so for a full year we cannot say for sure how the trend line for 2016 will end up.
This is a graph of the “average winner’s scores” (blue line) and the “average of the top 10 placing team scores” (orange line) for years 2012 through about one third of 2016.
The “average of the top 10 placing team scores” shows a persistent incline. Note that the “average winner’s scores” also shows an incline. However the “average winner’s scores” seem to have peaked in 2015.
Please note that since we are still in the 2016 season, only approximately one third of the 2016 scores have been collected. For this reason we cannot at this time determine the trend for the entire 2016 year.
Please be aware that we take this discussion very seriously and that we will continue to monitor our judging scores accordingly.
