Kirby, Unfortunately a reasonable answer to your questions puts me in the position of having to violate the very comments I just made, that is, the Message Board is for messages not discussion. However, your post will be answered but I promise I will hold it to a minimum..
First of all: There is a difference between "discussion" and harsh words. That is the way the posts were heading and that really serves no useful purpose. That is what prompted me to make my post.
Secondly, and on to your comments: Would you actually believe that I am unaware of the posts and events? For hours today members of the Board and our District Marshals have been talking and communicating about Irmo and, to a lesser extent, the scores at Chester.
Indeed, we have constructed graphs, run numbers, checked score sheets, and even done mathematical regressions over more than one year in an effort to actually get a handle on facts rather than make some sort of quick decision based on just opinions that may or may not be correct. There may be a problem, large or small, or this may just be a momentary deviation from good judgment that needs to be addressed. There are even other scoring considerations that I am not mentioning here that have been expressed to me today.
Please be assured, however, that after a reasonable and full discussion we will have some comments to make.
Now let's please get back to having some good times and let the dust settle a bit.

: Lake, If not the message board then where
: might the cookers voice their concerns?!?!
: Second, did you take the time to read the
: post about scores in Irmo?! If so what are
: your thoughts and ideas about this
: situation. I think as the leader of SCBA
: myself and a lot of other cookers would like
: and response and possibly resolution.

: Friends, you may remember (those of you who
: have taken the Judge's Seminar) that we say
: that the Message Board is a place for
: messages rather than a forum for discussion.
: As I try to explain in the judge's Seminar
: that is because without the ability to see
: the writer's facial expressions or hear the
: nuance and inflection in their voice, as we
: do in face to face conversation, we run the
: risk of misunderstanding what another
: person actually means.
:
: That "message not discussion" has
: been a guideline for the Message Board since
: we started it in 2004 for the simple reason
: that the SCBA is designed to be a fun
: experience rather than one that could lead
: to misunderstandings. So far (15 years
: ain't bad), it has worked quite well so
: let's please keep it up.
:
: Thank you all for your interest and lets
: continue in the established spirit of the
: SCBA.
:
: Thanks, Lake
