This is a morning judging for this event and judging will begin at 9:50 am on Saturday, October 24th. The event is a few weeks earlier this year so hopefully it will be a tad bit warmer. You should be there at 9:00 am for the judge’s briefing.

Please let me know if you will be receiving an apron or a hat at this event.

Judges will assemble in the Rose room at Victor’s Bistro, adjacent to where the cookers are to be.

Please do not socialize with the cookers before the judging which is the time that they are at the busiest getting their boxes ready. After the judging is over we encourage you to go see your cooker friends at their tents. When you do visit cookers please do not discuss any of the judging that was conducted by either you or at your table with the cookers.

Les Echols, who is with the Chamber of Commerce, is in charge of the festival. Mike Sexton and Bill Pickle are the Marshals.

Directions to Florence W. Cheves Street

This festival is easy to find since it is in downtown Florence. The address for Google Maps and MapQuest is 111 West Cheves Street, Florence, SC 29501. Just type in the address and come downtown. The festival will be only one block from US Highway 76 (Palmetto St.), which runs east and west and one block from Highway 52 which runs north and south. There is a parking lot across the street that you can use.
