The Outreach Farm is the only organization of its kind in the United States. The 501c3 nonprofit organization raises beef cattle to provide high-quality beef and produce, at no cost, to more than a dozen nonprofit organizations here in the Grand Strand that feed the hungry.
General instructions
This is a morning judging starting at 10:00 am. You should be there at NLT 9:00 am. Judges meet on Saturday, April 11th .
We will discuss the contest, make assignment for judges and go through orientation for the festival. The novice judges will get judging credit towards certification. We will also have new aprons and if Pawley’s Island is your fourth judging experience you will get your apron there. We also have hats for new Senior and Master Judges.
When arriving please move quickly through the cooker's area and offer/return a simple greeting. Please do not stop and chat with cooker personnel prior to the judging. Should you have a spouse or significant other working with a cook team you are not eligible to judge at the same event. Please advise the Marshall and an alternate duty for credit will be assigned.
Directions to the Battle at the Beach festival
The Battle at the Beach Festival will be located at the Beaver Bar, 3524 Highway 17 Business, Murrell’s Inlet, SC 29576. The Beaver Bar is a large Restaurant/Bar with parking all around and across the street. It is located on US Highway 17 Business, which goes through Murrells’s Inlet. The restaurant/bar is near where the Highway 17 Bypass joins Highway 17 Business.
If you are coming from the south (Georgetown/ Pawley’s Island) you stay to your right on Highway 17 and go through Murrell’s Inlet almost to the end of 17 Business. Beaver Bar will be on the left. You can park across the street in the vacant filling station there. Judging will be in a room in the Restaurant. If you are coming from Myrtle Beach direction you take the left-hand turn onto Highway 17 Business from Highway 17.
