HERE'S HOPING AGAIN MAGPIES v The Magpies

This is my 59th season coming up...FIFTY-BLOODY NINE...ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Only 4 of those have been in the top flight of English football, it's an outrage.

I am actually more hopeful than I have been since Neal Ardley was disgracefully sacked that we may actually go up this season.

We have two people in charge who have actually played the game, and the number two has played at this level. They seem to know what is required, and from what I have seen of the pre-season friendly matches on You Tube etc, they prefer to have the team going forwards as opposed to sideways, like the crab we tried to impersonate under Burchnall.

We've also bought some goalscoring forwards, always a positive sign, and they seem to know where the net is.

The defence seems to have been bolstered which was really our Achilles heel last season.

Unfortunately, Cal has gone, one of the best players in this league. We really must keep hold of Ruben Rodriguez.

I can honestly see a top 3 finish with these two in charge, they have given me a lot more confidence in our ability to get out of this league.

I think we'll start of this campaign with a 4-0 victory...Foxie and I of course will be there.

Good to see that you are back, Maggie.
I share your optimism.
I think we can do it this season and get promoted.
Well again I have had that feeling before, haven’t I?
So what is different?
The way we seem to play based on the videos of our pre-season games.
It looks like the players know what they should be doing.
Bring on Saturday and let’s get the season underway.
I will top up your prediction by hoping for a 5-0 win.

First of all, given signings, pre-season etc I too actually expect promotion this year as opposed to the usual wishful thinking.

Notts in friendlies looked more organised & as Mr M said, less crab like. Sad that Cal has gone but not surprised, but, on the positive side it looks like we have defenders who can defend & strikers who can score!

3-0 win, 2 of them by strikers

Hope you have all had a good warm summer of enjoyment.

Over here it as not been to cold for winter but some rain, you can't have it all ways can you.

Well Maggie I too are venturing on into my 59th season also and what a ride as I am sure you well know. Congrats to all other fellow pies on your achievements,

Onto this year I am looking forward to it and with renewed optimism for success.

New man at the helm with what it appears to be a bit of humph to him which we badly need.

Roberts gone but we have hopefully some to fill his shoes and keep the club evolving.

All my scores have gone so going for a steady 2-0 win to break the ice on the season ahead.

Oh well, I'm late in again as have just come back from work to find we are winning 3-0. I predicted 4-0 last night in the pub although I count it as nought because I didn't get on here before work this morning.The household are all out. Everyone else is at the game and left me behind. Huh. It's my 21st season as a Pie, absolutely no seasons in the top division and the highest I've been is League 1. Here's hoping but I'm not quite as confident as you lot.I'll see how they perform first.

Hope everyone has survived the Pandemic and the National League. I think Macca will do well this season, we didn't go out of 1st or 2nd gear. Taylors Goal was a peach. Have a great Evening Everyone
