Can I just say, my friend who went on Saturday said Notts were absolutely awful, a truly appalling performance. At 1-0 down, they still messed around with the ball at the back between goalie and full backs, instead of getting the ball up field as quickly as possible.
I've said it so many times now, the owners must realise there is so many times the fans will say thank you for giving us stability before they are turned on and told change the style of football who sell the club to owners who are serious about getting us back to the football league.
There is no doubt in my mind the brothers treat Notts as a toy and think they are playing Football Manager on their Play Station. I've said for a long time now, if you want to change the style of football you need new owners.
Which brings us nicely on to Tuesday. The last time I spoke to Mr Ardley on the train back to London after we had beaten Solihull earlier in the season, he was convinced the owners were going to sack him in the summer anyway. He is undoubtedly one of the best , if not the best managers around at this level, he knows this league and what gets you promoted , having already done with once, backwards.
I really cannot see Notts winning on Tuesday, we're in a mess at the moment, even against a non-existent Woking side we were below par in the first half, then we caved in completely against Chesterfield and were totally inept against a team we should have thrashed if we are to be considered promotion contenders.
Logic says we should lose on Tuesday, yet when did football and logic go together, Kings Lynn of all people led 2-0 on Saturday against them.
Solihull Moors have done well this season. We havenīt done as well as I expected and wanted. This has been the story of Notts County since we dropped out of league 1. We have started the seasons after relegation pushing at the top but failing at the last hurdle. Then another relegation and the story repeats. Notts to beat Solihull with 2-0.
From all interviews of both manager and players there is something wrong somewhere. I think the players appear to not be enjoying or believing in what we are doing. The same side gets picked week after week and why drop Vincent from the squad and not even put Brunt on the pitch. He might aswell go back for the good and games he has played so far.The only change is for an injury. Time to leave Wooton out and play Mitchell. He can only be given the opportunity cos Wooton will not be here next season. Sorry but I was almost right on Saturday and can't see anything different in this one. Was going for 2-1 too but will say 1-0. Regards to all from a sunny and warm NZ NZ FRED
Fingers crossed that Notts do the business but assuming Jaros is in goal & for some stupid reason keep bringing EVERY player back in to the box to defend, I can't imagine us keeping a clean sheet. Only question will be whether through a goalkeeper error or just everybody getting in each others way!
