She went over my medical history, labwork, concerns, everything with a fine tooth comb & agrees that I was right to refuse to go on statins, insulin, metformin, etc. AS LONG AS I keep my numbers in check.
As for my cholesterol, she's having addl testing done (drew the blood today) to see if there might be a genetic "glitch" keeping it from dropping more, given my low fat/low cholesterol diet.
She's also referring me to a hand speciallist in Lex for the carpal tunnel/whatever is going on with my hand.
Early on, I'd explained that I was looking for a new primary care physician because my current one refused to take in consideration the hell I went through the past couple of years and it's impact on my health. And as she was walking out the door, she stopped, put a hand on my shoulder & said "I know exactly where you're coming from. I lost my husband in June of 2024 and it changed everything." WOW. WOW. I did NOT see that coming. But it was so good to have a medical professional understand where I've been & how it impacted my heatlh & how I'm fighting my way back up.
I've already scheduled my annual exam with her for January and she'll follow up with me as soon as she gets the results from the bloodwork back to see where we want to go in the cholesterol battle.
Oh and I'd stopped taking my supplements after seeing the lady at Urgent Treatment but she reviewed all of them with me & wants me back on them. Especiallly the Ceylon Cinnamon, Ashwaganda, Fish Oil, and Vitamin D. Yay, looks like me research on those was correct & they can help me keep my numbers where I want them to be.
