Everyone has that one teacher who makes a difference. Mine was Dr. Cara Richards, professor of anthropology at Transylvania University. I took every class she offered & even transferred advisors so I could have her guidance. Through her classes (and talkng to her outside of class), I learned so much about the world far beyond anything I could imagine. Her teachings have stuck with me my entire life and have heavily influenced my viewpoint on so many things.

Even though I lost touch with her aftr graduation, I always like to think she was out there, studying some new culture or opening the eyes & minds of future generations so it was a shock to hear of her passing.

R.I.P., Dr. Richards - you were one of a kind!
