I was lucky to just get swiped by the edge as the first round as they roared towards the South last night. Lots of stuff blown over on the deck & everything there is SOAKED - water was even blowing all the way across the deck and thru the dog door at one point!
Areas to my East got hit hard though. Over 100,000 without electric at one point. Trees down everywhere & scattered property damage. 80mph winds just East of Lexington.
Local forecasters were predicting it would meet the definition of a "derecho" by the time it was done.
Several more rounds came thru overnight. Tons of lightning, "ground thumping" thunder, and a ridiculous amount of rain. Didn't make for good sleeping at all & Freddie kept trying to climb inside my skin with me.
Last round was around 9:00 this morning & the thunder shook the house so bad that a picture fell off the wall & you could hear glasses clinking together in the cabinet!!!!!
It's bright & sunny now though which is NOT good. There are more storms forecast for later today & into tonight and this sunlight/warmth is just going to de-stabilize the atmosphere even more. Hopefully they hold off until after we ladies meet & get the clubhouse cleaned.
ANYWAY, I hope eveyrone is safe & dry and that you continue to stay that way!!!!!
