17 years ago today we put Kate on a bus for the Olympic Development Program as a referee. Only 15 years old & she was one of 4 referees (of all ages) chosen to represent Kentucky.

If she'd only stuck with it, she'd have had such an exciting secondary career as a high level ref.

Oh well. About 2 years later, she quit reffing completely. That was after she quit playing soccer after the head coach at the Univ of Kentucky tried to recruit her as a goalkeeper (and that wasn't even her normal position). Then she was all set for vet school (grades, experience, recommendations, etc.) and walked away from that too.

I'm sensing a theme here.....
