On the upside, I caught 3 hybrid bass that gave me the fight of a lifetime. The smallest was bigger than anything I'd ever caught before!!!! This was the best:



I also caught a nice catfish & helped catch itty bitty alewives to use as live bait.

That whole part was definitely a bucket list experience for me!

BUT... it seems that my brother has progressed from "functional alcoholic" to just plain "alcoholic." Every day, he was drinking from the time he woke up until he passed out at night. We had to take the car & boat keys away from him.

And when he drinks, he gets mean... as in beats his wife mean. And according to her, he's done it for years - even before they were married 55 years ago. I always knew he had a hair trigger temper but NEVER EVER did it occur to me that he might be an abusive husband!

I'm just heartsick over learning this (and seeing it in person). I've always looked up to my big brother and now... I don't know what to think. Or how to feel because I'm so disgusted.
